    Rik is a leading communications professional with 15+ years in the industry, working with brands that speak to and work with young people. Rik has held his current position at Spotify for two years, where he leads communications across the entire business, taking in projects across music, podcasts and audiobooks, in addition to social impact work such as the ongoing relationship with Mentivity.

    Prior to his time at Spotify, Rik spent five years in a similar role at Red Bull, working across sport and culture projects. Once again he also led on social impact projects, such as a collaboration with Positive View, a charity aimed at transforming young people's lives through photography.

    Previous to Red Bull, Rik spent 10 years working in PR agencies, working across clients such as Adidas Originals, Foot Locker and Disney. As a man of great taste, Rik has held a season ticket at Arsenal for 10+ years.

James has worked extensively in placemaking for clients including The Crown Estate, EcoWorld London and Related Argent, consulting on strategy and leading the delivery of creative, placemaking and leasing projects.

    Mentor for graduates, early careers, and careers pivoters into tech. Keen supporter of community initiatives and unlocking corporate spend to charities with real purpose. In the summer of 2024 was recognized by Empower and HSBC as a Empower Future Leader Role Model. A #IAmRemarkable Facilitator which is a global programme set up to tackle low promotion rates for people of colour due to feeling uncomfortable about sharing achievements due to imposter syndrome, cultural norms.

Meet The Mentors

At Mentivity, we are proud to have a team of highly skilled and dedicated mentors who are passionate about guiding and inspiring young people. Each of our mentors undergoes comprehensive training and continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver the best possible support.

Whether session-based Junior Mentors or experienced Mentors, every team member completes a robust set of CPD-accredited courses as part of their induction and ongoing development. Our rigorous training programme reflects our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and effective mentoring environment that makes a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Training for Junior Mentors and Mentors:

  • RSBA1 Basic First Aid

  • Safeguarding: Level 3

  • Fundamentals of Health and Safety in the Workplace
